Wine subscription in Belgium: how to choose the right one
Receiving wines chosen for you every month is easy. Choosing the right subscription is less so: here is what to check before you commit — or rather, so you don't have to.

1. The real price per bottle, delivery included
Divide the price of the box by the number of bottles, then add delivery if it is charged separately. It is the only way to compare two offers: a 3-bottle box that looks cheap can cost more than a 6-bottle box once shipping is added.

2. Knowing where the wines come from
A good subscription tells you who made the wine: the estate, the region, the vintage, the grapes. Be wary of house labels without a producer's name: you will never find a wine you liked again.
3. Choosing the level, size and rhythm
Not everyone drinks the same amount or has the same budget. Check that you can choose between several levels, between 3 and 6 bottles, and between a box every month or every two months — and change your mind later.
4. No commitment, with a real pause
Read the cancellation terms before paying. The best plans have no minimum term and let you skip a delivery (holidays, full cellar) without being charged. At VinoBox, you pause online from "My subscription".
5. A sheet with every wine
A subscription is also a way to learn what you like. A sheet per wine (taste, pairings, the winemaker's story) turns a delivery into a discovery and helps you choose the next bottle.
6. Tasting first
Nothing replaces tasting. Some clubs hold evenings where you taste before choosing: that is how our tastings at our partner wine merchant work, open to all members. It is not compulsory: you can choose online directly.
7. What if a bottle is corked?
Corked wine happens. Check whether the offer includes a replacement or a credit, and within what time. At VinoBox, a corked bottle reported within 30 days with a photo earns you a credit worth one bottle on your next box.
