Wine as a business gift: ideas, budget and planning
Wine remains one of the most appreciated business gifts, as long as it is well chosen and well organised. Ideas by budget, timing and points of attention for Belgian companies.

Why wine works
It is shared, it keeps, it tells a story. A winemaker's wine, with its sheet and a personal note, shows the gift was thought through, not ordered in bulk.
Ideas by budget
- A token of thanks: a fine bottle with its sheet, to thank a partner or mark an occasion.
- A 3-bottle set: red, white and a surprise, for your regular clients.
- A 6-bottle set: for key partners or a major thank-you.
- An experience: a team tasting led by our partner wine merchant, at your offices or in the merchant's shop.
Planning the year-end
- Start early: in October or November, list the recipients and the budget per person.
- Choose where to deliver: to the office or to each person's home, in Belgium.
- Prepare the note: a few personal lines beat a printed card.
- Check age: wine is only given to adults.
What about tax?
In Belgium, business gifts are in principle 50% deductible, and VAT can only be recovered on gifts under €50 excluding VAT, under conditions. Gifts to staff follow other rules. We explain these rules, with a net-cost simulator, on our Business page; your accountant remains the best adviser for your situation.
An invoice in the company's name
VinoBox issues an invoice in your company's name, with your VAT number, for a one-off order as well as regular deliveries. Keep it with the list of recipients and the occasion of the gift.
